We are excited to announce that the first volume in our Mesemb series, The Titanopsis Group, is now shipping.
The Titanopsis Group is an embarrassment of horticultural riches, including Lithops. We’ve divided the group into two volumes, following the natural sub-groupings suggested by the prevailing classification of the family, with all genera receiving complete treatment (Lithops and its closest allies being slated for a later offering).
This first part of the Titanopsis Group will covers 34 species in nine genera, all collectable flowering stones. Among them, Aloinopsis has the distinction of being one of the few caudiciform mesembs, while Tanquana, a true stone-face plant, represents one of the least known of the living stones—once classified under Pleiospilos, though more delicate and far more charming. The warty rosettes of Titanopsis flush to form browns and grays to dusky purples and rose.
This book is exquisite: from the engaging text of the world's best-known mesemb grower to photos and paintings from the best photographers and illustrators in the world of succulent plants. Like other books by this author, we anticipate these books will become rare collectibles and essential resources for identification and reading enjoyment.
